I want to be SO SO SO excited by this

but I'm having a hard time due to past experiences of crumminess. I lurrrvves me new ways to save space within my kit and the Z Palette is making me slightly excited at the chance to fit ANY shaped depoted make up, up in it.

This exclusive custom palette is perfect for display and color comparison. Its outstanding sleek and clean design offers an open magnetic base to fit any size eye shadow, blush, bronzer, or even foundation! You can keep all your favorites from all different makeup brands in one place. The compact finish is made of a coated high quality matte paper, which is easy to clean and is 70% recyclable. Best of all with its unique acrylic clear window you can see exactly what’s inside! Replace colors as often as you would like to your preference.

AHHHH mazing right? Don't get too overly excited just yet...the outer casing is made from "coated, high quality matte PAPER!".  I had a similar palette to this one that I spent about $30 and within weeks the edges of the paper on the palette started curling and I was left with a palette that left my poor lil eyeshadows all exposed for the world to see...ultimately leading to the demise of a few of my favourite shades.  I want to love this palette because it's such a great idea, but I think I'm going to hold out until they come up with a more durable one.

That being said...this palette would be fantastic for someone that doesn't have to lug their make up around to different places all the time.  The cutesy zebra print would look fantastic sitting on your vanity and it really is a great idea.

If you want...you can check out this fantastical invention on the Z Palette website where you can order them in different sizes, ranging in price from $14 to $20.

Humidity Proof Eye Shadow Tips

Oily eyelids is a problem for just about everyone, no matter what skin type the rest of your face belongs to.

First off, if you apply an eye cream to your eye area and you normally apply it to your lid as well...skip the lid!  Since the job of the eye cream is to hydrate and plump the eye area, putting eye cream on your lids can make your lids appear puffy and increase oil production.

Secondly, as you powder your face to set your foundation..DON'T FORGET THE EYES! Take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and press the translucent powder into your eyelids to help absorb any excess oil before shadow application.

If all else fails, reach for an eyelid primer.  I never apply eyeshadow to a bare lid because I find the colour can become blotchy on a hot day and the colour never wears as vibrant and true as it does with a base.

A cult favourite for eyelid primers is Urban Decays Eyeshadow Primer Potion (UDPP for all you makeup junkies).   A little goes a long way with this magic in a bottle potion, simply dab a little onto your eyelid, blend with your fingers (remember! ring finger is best for eye area, provides least amount of tugging, resulting in less opportunity for wrinkles) allow to dry for a few seconds and then apply your shadow as you normally would.  Using this product just once will turn you into a junkie and you'll never feel the same way about eye shadow again.  Your colours will wear longer, more vibrant, and most importantly CREASE FREE!

At only $18 this product is a steal since you'll need less shadow to get your desired look, and not to mention that a little bit goes a long long long way. You can check it out here for more deets.

Some other shadow primers that come in a close second place include...
The new NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base slightly pricier at $24.

An honourable mention can go out to Benefit and their Lemon Aid lid primer.  I love this product because the yellowishness in it helps to take away the redness in  my lids and I even wear it alone for the no make up make up look.

Can be found here for only $20 bucks!  Also found at Shoppers Drug Mart with Beauty Boutiques.

The only one I would suggest that you stay far far away from is the Smashbox Lid Primer.

I've tried many, many times to love this product since I usually luurve Smashbox products, but everytime it underachieves and with a price tag of $20 it's not worth it at all.

Highbeam by Benefit

Seriously. This does several things: in gives me the best dewy look ever. In the summer it gives me a lovely, non-shiny luster that tops off my tan. In the winter months it prevents me from having that "my face is a powder puff" uber dry look. I don't go a day with out this.

Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub:

This product is fantastic. It has small rough particles to smooth out the skin. It does leave a very slightly oily feel on the skin after washing, but that is simply due to the moisturizing components. My face looks visibly less oily after using the scrub just once. This stuff works wonders on trouble skin.

Estee Lauder Verite Moisture relief

I have very sensitive skin and tried different moisturizers, but this is the only one that I didn't break out from. I have been using it for over 2 years now and don't plan on switching to another brand. Oh by the way, this stuff is fragrance free too. Highly recommend for those who have sensitive skin.

Contact me at bagabooty@gmail.com with your address and it'll be shipped out asap.

More contests coming soon...thanks to everyone that participated.

and the prize issss....one Haunting eyeshadow by MAC...bnib...was part of the Alexander Mc Queen collection...just recently relaunched.

The task: Make me a list of your favourite products and why you love them so.  One winner will be chosen at random.

Good luck!

Can't Live Without

Color Club Nail Lacquer in PUCCILICIOUS.
This colour is honestly the most perfect purple ever.  Puccilicious is a bright, creamy purple that goes on perfectly in two coats with no streaks.  I've been loving the purple polish lately and this is fo shoo my new favourite.  Perfect for summer...looks amazing on toes!  Love love love.

Vichy Eau Thermale.
This spray is rich in minerals and helps to soothe sensitive, irritated skin.  Once you spray this beauty all over your face let it sit for a few seconds then gently pat into your skin.  I have horrific allergies this time of year and I find that this spray is useful in soothing my itchy skin.  It's great for setting make-up, and helps to make setting powder not look so dry. Love love loooove.

Cover FX Conceal FX in Light.
This concealer is well worth the price tag and can cover just about anything your face throws your way.  Since I've been so busy and there's no time for sleep, it does a great job at covering those horrific under eye bags, that lately for me seem to be a full set of Louis Vuttion luggage, including dog carrier.  The concealer has unique self adjusting pigments that help blend to the correct colour for your skin once you start blending.  Looooove.

Preview of the Week

I`ve turned into such a lipstick junkie. Start getting excited
 July 15th. Mark your calenders.

Baby Come Back

It is a sad day in this little monsters life today...I have finally used the last of my Bath and Body Works Purely Silk Salt Scrub.  I have been searching high and low since I opened the last jar in my stockpile, but have yet to find anything that comes even close to this skin softening wonder.  Even though this salt scrub caused many horrible falls in my shower because it left the tub slick and oily for the person that showered after me..it was that oil that made my skin ohhh so nice.   I might just have to give in and buy the extremely overpriced jars that are left on Ebay.

Ready for Your Flippy Floppies?

Ahhh. The wonderful flip flop season has begun.  If you're like me, winter is horrible because your poor toesies are stuck in a confined space for way too long.  I like to let my babies breathe and flip flops are perfect for just that.  Now, that being said you can't present your footsies to the world after they've been left to dry out, crack and get flaky over the winter.  These products will help you put your best toes forward.
The Mr. Pumice Ultimate Pumi Bar is a great tool for removing that extra layer of crusty nast that is left on your feet from winter.  The Ultimate Pumi Bar comes with a coarse side for those extra thick calluses and a medium coarseness to use all over your feet.  This bar can be used wet or dry and is antibacterial solution safe.  I've gone through many pumice scrubs, bars and tools and this is by far my favourite.  They're cheap, cheerful and they get the job done!

Bath and Body Works I Love Shea footcream.  Once you're done scrubbin away the dead skin with the Mr. Pumice scrubber, slap on some of this fantastic foot cream and feel your feet instantly soften.  To make this product work double time, put it on before bed, put your footsies in a pair of cotton socks and wake up to amazingly soft feet.

If you want to go the whole nine yards in foot care fashion then turn to these Beauty Booties from Bath and Body Works.  At $25 the price tag is a little high, but they're well worth it for all you foot pampering princesses.  The inside of these socks contain olive and jojoba oils to help prevent moisture loss and vitamin e to help keep your feeties looking young and fabulous.

Monday Must Have

Sooo I love waterproof make-up for the hot melting days of summer.  I recently came across these MUFE Aqua Cream eyeshadows.  I love MUFE ever since getting my flash kit so when I saw these lil babies I just about died.

What it is:
An ultra-pigmented, long-lasting waterproof eye cream shadow.

What it does:
Aqua Cream combines the highest-quality pigments with mother of pearl particles to give immediate rich color payoff with a luminous finish in just one application. It's long-lasting formulation will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions and its creamy and elastic texture allows for easy blending.

Wear em on your eyes, cheeks or lips and watch how they stay on through any of your summer activities.

Swatches and reviews comin soon.

Packaging Fail: When Perfect Products Have Horrible Packaging

Offender #1.  Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Collection Shea Cashmere Body Lotion.  This has to be my favourite moisturizer of all time.  The product is flawless.  It smells gooorgeous, like vanilla, but a little different then most vanillas.  The lotion is light but super moisturizing with African shea butter.  With such a perfect product there has to be a catch....and it's the package.

I love any product that comes with a pump.  The pump helps to control the amount of product used, and from a germaphobe perspective...it's far more clean to pump then to dip your fingers in a jar.  I'd say the first month of using this product was great..no problems what so ever, but once the product began getting lower and lower in the bottle the pump started to fail on me :(.  The first problem was that the lotion seemed to get thicker over time, which wasn't really a problem until it was almost too thick to get up to the pump.  The second problem is that the lil straw lookin thingy that brings the product up to the pump wasn't long enough to get the precious bits of lotion at the bottom of the bottle.  I'm the type of gal that likes to use every last drop of product if I love it..so there I was trying to find a way to cut the bottle open to reach the bottom.  The bottle is more of a hard plastic so it couldn't be squeezed.  So much frustration over a lotion...but still well worth it.

Love love love love love this lotion and for $16.50 you can bet that I cracked that sucker open to get to the very bottom. :D

Right now this lotion is available on SAAAALE at  Bath and Body Works , normally $16.50 but now available for a limited time 2 for $20.  You can bet I'm stocking up.

It's My Look in a Box

Soooo...as soon as I heard the title of Look in a Box of course my brain travelled back to that fantastical SNL skit...ya know the one I'm talking about :)

MAC originally released the Look in a Box idea earlier this year...but it was only available in Duty Free stores and Travel Retail locations.  I diiiiied when I saw the Gothette Look in a Box, and I still want it badly..but there's a new collection being released at the Bay (July 8th) in Canada and at Nordstroms (July 16th) in the US.

The collection will be packaged similarly to the other Looks in a Box, with an image on the outside showing

The one I'm most excited for is the Look in a Box: Frisky Girl ($59.50 US/ $61.50 CDN)
This collection contains

Pretty Baby Beauty Powder..previously found a home in the Hello Kitty collection.

 Powder Blush in Well Dressed

Mineral Eye Shadow in Mercurial

Lipglass in Nymphette

Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara

Soooo gorgeous. Me want!

Venomous Villains--Mac+Disney=ME WANT!

oooh gosh. MAC must tease me so..check out the teaser video here for MACs new collaboration with Disney.  The Venomous Villains collection is due out in September and this is the only little peek that MAC is willing to give us.

From WWD:
MAC Cosmetics is teaming up with Disney to create a limited edition color collection, intended to launch globally in late September in all MAC locations. The products will feature four Disney characters, on which the brand is keeping mum at the moment — although with a collection name of Venomous Villains, it is assumed that we’re not talking Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse here. Lipstick, powder, lip gloss and blush shades will be sold, ranging in price from $12 to $29.50.
This is going to be huge.  I'm getting excited and it's more than 3 months away. Le sigh.

ohhh my gaga.  The mama monster herself stepped out this evening at the Almay Concert to Celebrate the Rainforest in NYC.  I am lloooving the gray hair even though combined with that outfit she looks slightly grandmaish..although she makes for a very stylish grandma.  What do you think...love it or leave it?

Mr. Sun Sun Mr Golden Sun

If you're like me and you can manage to get a sunburn sitting by a window, then this is the product for you.  Hopefully Summer is just around the corner and this product should be on everyones must have list.  Usually I'm not a fan of any type of sunscreen on my face because of the stink involved, the breakouts and worst of all..the dreaded sunscreen in the eye!  The new Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid is the lightest feeling sunscreen I've ever experienced.  This sunblock offers a non-shiny finish that works beautifully under make up and doesn't leave you with that gunky too much product on my face feeling.  It's oil free, PABA free and is both sweat and water proof.  I think the SPF of 55 and 70 are a little extreme, but good protection with a light weight feel is hard to find. Scoop it and love it :)

the eyebrow gods have answered!

I reallllly am obsessed with eyebrows.  Maybe it's because I was not blessed in the beautiful brow department (mine seem to stop where most people have an arch...horrible...I know), that's why the Smashbox original brow tech has been a favourite of mine for years and years. So there I was checking my hundreds of emails when my favourite weekly dose of Smashbox introduced me to this fabulous find.  Brow tech to go?! AHHHMAZING.

I know right...freaking amazing.  The one end has an angled brow pencil, that never has to be sharpened (genius!!) and the other end has a soft holding gel to help tame the most unruly brows.

Me and my sparse straggly eyebrows haaave to have this!  A review will follow as soon as I get it in my hot little hands :)

Drugstore find of the week

I'm a poor poor student, so whenever I can find a quality product at a fantastically cheap price I scoop em up as fast as possible. While drugstore diving I discovered these great brushes by a company called POSH. POSH offers great synthetic brushes at an equally great price, giving you tons of bang for your buck.

There are many brushes from POSH to choose from. I started off with the 5 Piece Mini Brush Kit with Zipper Pouch. This mini travel brush kit includes a powder brush, purse foundation, conceal & touch up duo brush, brow & eyeliner duo brush, smokey & angle eye shadow duo brush in a zippered travel purse.

Cheap cheap price. I think I ended up getting mine on sale at Pharma Plus for under $10.
Brushes are great quality and offer excellent blendability.
Very easy to clean and dries quickly.

The foundation brush is way too huge for a flawless application. It's the only brush in the set that I don't use.
The brushes are a tad shorter then regular sized brushes so it makes for an awkward application.

All in all I'd say that I'm completely happy with these cheap but cheerful brushes and just might be one of my most favourite drug store finds of all time.

I effing love Michelle.

So..as I try my best to tread through the useless tutorial videos for make up found on youtube...my all time favourite has to be Michelle (s2pandaapple). She has the best selection of videos on things from a different hair style for everyday to product reviews and tutorials. I'm lucky enough to have Michelle in my program at school, so I dig through her brain of make up wisdom all the time. So! Check her out. Watch her videos. She really is fantastical on every possible level of fantasticalness :D

We have to wish a Happy Mothers Day to Mama Monster herself..Lady Gaga! :D If my own Mother would allow me to post silly pictures of her all over the internet then this tribute would be to her..because clearly she is the best moshmosh in the world...but instead I pay tribute to the Mama of all the little monsters. Lady Gagas fans made the cutest video in the world for her, wishing her a Happy Mothers Day. So Happy Mothers Day to all you Mamas out there. Without you...there would be nothing :)

Loving it.

So ever since I cut my hair from short to shorter I've been loving weird eyeliner and what I guess could be classified as the "mod" look. Think Twiggy or Edie Sedgwick. I still haven't travelled into the world of lining the crease quite so heavy, but I love love love the effect it gives.

While looking for ideas and inspiration I found this ahhhmazing picture of Christina Aguilera.

Normally I find her make up to be borderline hideous but she looks amazing painted up proper.

I have a sick obsession with this stuff...

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. It comes in lots of different formats, but my personal favourite is the Skin Protectant. This miracle balm can get rid of the nastest, driest chapped lips over night. You apply a nice coating right before bed and vamoosh..wake up with the softest lips ever. I must admit this stuff has a slightly medicinal stank to it and for some reason reminds me of earwax..but I still slather it all over my lips, cuticles, elbows and heels every night when I go to sleep. When I'm sick, I schlop it on my nose to prevent that dreaded crusty rudolph not so cute look. With this stuff a little bit goes a long long way. I gave some to my grandma for her birthday..apparently she puts it all over her face as a moisturizer and I swear to you she is over 70 and her skin is glowing!

From the Elizabeth Arden website...8 great ways to use 8 hour cream

Eight great ways to use Eight Hour Cream

1. Alleviate dry skin.
2. Great gloss for lips.
3. Highlight eyelids, cheeks and shoulders.
4. For after shaving or waxing.
5. Shape brows into place.
6. Soften rough, dry cuticles.
7. Antidote for rough heels and soles.
8. Best in-flight moisture booster.

#5 shall be tested tomorrow...my two sick obessions will collide...8 hour cream and eyebrows! ha.

oh em gee. want of the week.

soooO...Since it's payday this week (finally) it's a double duty want of the week.

I love Tokidoki. I can never afford Tokidoki so I head to Pacific Mall and buy all the fake bags a true Tokidoki lover can handle :) I also love liquid liner in pen form...lately I've been rocking the NYX Jet Black..but then...my two loves collided and came up with this!

When I first came across this I had to take a moment and pick my jaw up off the ground. Fantastical liquid liner annnnnd Tokidoki. The make up gods are reading my mind. I must have all of them. Every single one. So..it goes on the list that`s already 8 miles long but I think I'm excited enough to put it at the top.

16 dollla at Sephora.

Liquid liner AND bling bling for my lippies? What a wonderful week.

MACs new Superglass lipgloss is here. $21.50 for lipgloss...ouuch. I still want want want though. I love Dazzleglass...so Superglass just has to be the be all end all of glitterglosses right? :)

A lip gloss blended with small, medium and large pearls to create three distinct dimensions of jewel-like flash and overwhelming dazzle. Provides sheer medium coverage. Adds sexy shine and lustre to the lips. Helps lips stay smooth and hydrated. Features M∙A∙C’s vanilla flavour. Limited edition.(of course!)

Check check it.

So if I finally cave and buy something off this 8 mile long want list..I will test it like it's never been tested before and let you know if it's worth the buckaroos.

I've tried...

for so very very long to love this mascara as much as everyone else does. I am a self proclaimed mascara addict. If Dr. Drew had a show about make up addiction, my drug of choice to kick would be mascara. Expensive mascara, cheap mascara, mascara that curls, plumps, extends and volumzies. I love it all. They all have a place in my heart. All except for the one that is world renowned for being make up artists number one choice. That mascara is the Maybeline Great Lash. The classic hot pink and lime green tube draws me in every time. Every time I purchase it, I think to myself...Maybe, just maybe this time will be different and it'll blow me away. It never happens. I always end up poking myself in the eye with the little brush, not getting enough volume, or smudging it all over my eyelid..which if you're in a rush in the morning could be considered a criminal offence.

That being said, the Maybeline Great Lash original comes with the big fat verdict of leave it. I'll glady leave it to all those people that can get it to work for them, but for me..NO. I will never buy a tube again. I put my hand on the beauty bible and promise that.

The brilliant minds at Maybeline came out with this! The Maybeline Great Lash BIG! At last..they listened to my cries about the horrific original brush and came out with this fat honkin, hot pink and green masterpiece. This brush has an official place in my heart as my go to "I'm way to broke for Dior Show" mascara. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

Oh Maybeline..you have restored my love in the old classic Great Lash. I thank you for that :D

Just 25 days to go...
